Hiking Highlights in Bayrischzell

We have put together our top 3 hiking tips for you. Below you can find the exact route description.

Bauernhof Bayrischzell Wendelstein

Wendelstein

In Bayrischzell`s Kurpark, you begin your walk over the small wooden bridge onto the Michael-Meindl street. Take a left at the open air swimming pool and then take a right after another 50 metres. Now, follow the uphill path. Then, after several hundred metres, diverge off to the right below the mainroad. Straight along, continue on the trail past the first mountain chalets and then along a winding path through a small forest. Through further, steep and twisting paths – after crossing the Wendelsteinbach – take the partly sunny, partly shady path leading to the Wendelsteinalm. The path goes through sprauce trees and then down a slope until you reach the mountain’s cliff face. It’s here that the King Maximillian way branches off right and follows a trail underneath a notch in the rock and then over the rear of the Alpine herder wall to the Wendelstein house (1723m above sea level). The summit is near to here – only around 20 minutes away. If you don’t want to do the return on foot, you can use the cable car. By the station in the valley there is a return journey with the BRB train service to Bayrischzell.

Seeberg

Seeberg

Start the hike by the mini golf park, at the feet of mount Seeberg on path 645. Follow the partly sunny, partly shady path to the east side of Seeberg, on to Neuhütte. From there, head out towards the Seerbergalmen past the sunny, treeless southern slope. At the summit (1538 metres above sea level), there is a magnificent view of Bayrischzell, as well as the lower valley. On the return path, you can also plan westwards past the Seebergalmen over the Niederhofer Alm (refreshness possibility) or walk the same way back across the valley and stop off at one of Bayrischzell’s Inn‘s to grab a bite to eat and drink.

Tatzelwurm-Wasserfälle

Start at Kurpark, then walk upstream along the „Larchbach“ until the Schönborn chapel. From here continue along Sudelfeld Street until „Schi-Alm-Andreas-Stüberl“. Follow the path past the chairlift Station, then continuosly climb to Berghotel Sudelfeld/“Bröselalm“ (1097 m above sea level). From there continue on the path for about 4.2 km - first straigth then more and more downhill until you reach the „Tatzelwurm Waterfall“ (764m above sea level). Very close to the Waterfall you find the „Feuriger Tatzelwurm Inn“ which might be welcome for refreshness. Most oft the tour is very scenic, big parts of it quite sunny and some in the shade.
Fort the return you can take the „Wendelstein-Ringlinie“ bus. Please be aware of the schedule!
